First Post. Woot woot!

It's 12:30 in the morning where I am right now and so I have little energy left to going on a big introduction and explanation on why I made this blog. So, let's get to the point shall we. As per the title and description, this blog is supposed to help me keep myself in check while I'm attempting all the above. The past few weeks I've been arguing with myself on when exactly I should apply for my MBA; this year, or next year.....

New Layout!

I know, this has nothing to do with GMAT or my application plan but look at it! Doesn't it look nicer? :D
No, not trying to hide the fact that I didn't get to do my AWA assessment today. It's not my fault, the professor was out. Plus, I don't think he even read the 2 essays I emailed him. So, rescheduling that for tomorrow.
Now, today was not completely wasted and I did not just spend 3 hours of my GMAT study time playing around with the blog's layout.

Instead, I used that time to go through beatthegmat and look for more study tips. I found a few very useful articles on the math topics that the Quant section covers, as well as strategies on how to answer certain types of questions and shortcuts for math problems. I probably won't focus on these too much until my 3rd week, but it's good to have them on hand now. I'm only gonna get busier from now on so while I have the time right?

Aside from that I spent a bit of time getting some insight on the admissions process. I've already read tons of articles and talked to a bunch of people, but you can never be too prepared and so I'm asking for advice from the friendly BTG community - they're all so responsive! One of the things that I read about MBA admissions is that each applicant needs to have a "brand". Yes. A brand. Something that makes you stand out from the pack. Something that identifies strongly with you. I've already been brainstorming about it this whole month with myself, and had a discussion about with a friend, and it looks like I might have something to work with. I just need to spend more time on it and maybe if you guys are willing, I'll be asking some of you for advice! :)

So, that's that. Oh yeah, I think all this GMAT excitement is giving me insomnia. I've only had about 5 hours for about a week now. That can't be good. So I'm gonna try to call it in early tonight and hopefully my energy will be up again tomorrow.

Jya, oyasumi!

"For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helpings others." - Sam Levenson
